Join the Big Conversation on pharmacy professional leadership

The UK Pharmacy Professional Leadership Advisory Board (UKPPLAB) ran a series of webinars inviting pharmacy professionals to join a UK-wide ‘Big Conversation’ about the future of collaborative pharmacy professional leadership.

‘Enabling us to be the best that pharmacy can be’ webinars were held across the UK from 3 to 25 February 2025, giving pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and wider pharmacy team members an opportunity to have their say on a proposed vision and common purpose for pharmacy professional leadership.

Together, the Board co-created a proposed vision and common purpose which sets the intention for a more collaborative approach to pharmacy professional leadership in the future. An approach that will benefit patients, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and all professional leadership bodies and specialist professional groups.

APTUK hosted a free, interactive ‘Enabling us to be the best that pharmacy can be’ webinar on Monday 24th February 2025, the recording of which can be seen below.

Other organisations who hosted similar webinars included:

  • UK Pharmacy Professional Leadership Advisory Board (with sessions for England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Patients and the Public)
  • British Oncology Pharmacy Association
  • British Pharmaceutical Student’s Association
  • College of Mental Health Pharmacy
  • Primary Care Pharmacy Association
  • Pharmacy Forum Northern Ireland
  • UK Clinical Pharmacy Association

Through the Board’s work, closer collaboration between pharmacy professional leadership bodies and specialist professional groups, supported by Independent Expert Members, will enable and support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to meet the opportunities and challenges ahead.

Chaired by Sir Hugh Taylor, the Board includes 21 members bringing a wide range of expertise and experience. Over three years, the Board will lead the implementation of recommendations from the UK Commission on Pharmacy Professional Leadership’s report, published in February 2023.
